Common issues

Apps aren't being blocked

  1. Open Settings → Screen Time and confirm Hush is listed under "Apps with Screen Time Access".
  2. In the Hush app, open a profile and re-select the apps you want blocked.
  3. Start a session manually from the home screen to verify the shield appears.

NFC tag isn't recognised

  1. Make sure the tag is NDEF-compatible (NTAG213/215/216 or MIFARE).
  2. Tap the top of the iPhone to the tag — the NFC antenna sits near the camera.
  3. In the Hush app, re-register the tag from Settings → Focus Keys if the tag UID has changed.

Hush Beacon isn't triggering

  1. Confirm Bluetooth is on and that Hush has "Always" location permission (required for background beacon detection).
  2. Check the beacon's coin-cell battery — a flat battery is the most common cause of a silent beacon.
  3. Re-pair the beacon from Settings → Beacons, then walk into and out of range to test.

Leaderboard rank isn't updating

Stats sync at most every five minutes. Pull to refresh on the Stats screen, and confirm your device has an internet connection. If your rank still looks wrong after a few hours, email us with your anonymous ID (Settings → About → tap the version number).

Resetting the app

Deleting and reinstalling Hush clears all on-device history and configuration. Your anonymous leaderboard identity persists in the Keychain so your streak and rank are preserved across reinstalls. To sever the leaderboard link as well, sign out from Settings before deleting the app.

Hush hardware

Hush Beacons and Hush Keys are one-time purchases. Replacements, returns, and shipping questions are handled through the store — reply to your order confirmation email and we'll sort it.

Beacons use a standard CR2032 coin cell that lasts 1–2 years. No charging, no pairing, no WiFi.

Privacy and data

Hush is anonymous by design. The only data that leaves your device is optional leaderboard sync (focus minutes, streak counts, achievement unlocks, and an anonymous ID). See the full privacy policy for details.

To remove your data from the leaderboard, disable sync in the app or email us with your anonymous ID.

Reporting a bug

Email support@hushmy.app with steps to reproduce, what you expected, and what happened instead. A screen recording is the single most useful thing you can send — use the iOS built-in screen recorder (Control Centre → record button) and attach the file to your email.
